Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Youth,ย Sports & Culture, Hon. Ron Redhead has congratulated Lindon Victor on his dominance in the menโs decathlon at the Decastar, in Talence, France.
Victor, who is also the Commonwealth champion, broke his Grenadian record, scoringย 8550 points to win the decathlon at the Decastar meeting in Talence on Sunday, winning the overall menโs title in the World Athletics Combined Events Tour.

Victor contested his fourth decathlon of the year, having finished second in Gรถtzis andย fifth at the World Championships before his triumph at the Commonwealth Games. Still,ย he showed little fatigue in Talence at this late season stage.
The 29-year-old opened his campaign with a wind-assisted 10.61 in the 100m, finishingย second to Germanyโs Manuel Eitel with 10.44.
In the shot put, Victor launched ahead thanks to a 15.75m throw, almost a meter fartherย than any of his rivals.
Victor ended day one with a win in his 400m heat, clocking a PB of 48.20 for the dayโsย third-quickest time behind Germanyโs Malik Diakite (47.74) and Gaio (48.19), giving himย an overnight score of 4438 and a 128-point lead over Gaio.
Victorโs strong series continued Sunday, starting with a 14.70 run in the 110m hurdles,ย just a few hundredths shy of his seasonโs best.
But Victor responded in the next event, throwing 51.00m โdayโs best mark โ in the discusย to regain the lead.
He equalled his 4.80m seasonโs best in the pole vault and followed it with a 66.01m throwย in the javelin, another intense event for the Grenadian, giving him a lead of almost 400ย points going into the final event.
