St. George’s, Grenada — Grenada’s national senior men’s football team, the Spice Boys, saw their impressive home winning streak come to an end on home soil after a narrow 1–0 defeat to Jamaica in an international friendly played at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium.

The loss snapped a six-game winning run for Grenada at home, as the Reggae Boyz used their experience and composure to edge the contest by a single goal. Jamaica, currently ranked 70th in the FIFA Men’s World Rankings, demonstrated their pedigree against a determined Grenadian side ranked 164th.

Despite the difference in rankings, the Spice Boys delivered a spirited performance in front of local supporters, creating moments of promise and showing resilience throughout the match. However, Jamaica capitalized on a key opportunity to secure the lone goal that ultimately decided the encounter.

The friendly formed part of both teams’ preparations as they continue to fine-tune their squads and tactics for upcoming international assignments. For Grenada, the match provided valuable exposure against higher-ranked opposition and highlighted areas for improvement as they look ahead to future competitions.

While the result ended a strong run at home, the Spice Boys will take confidence from competing closely with one of the region’s stronger footballing nations, as they continue building momentum and experience on the international stage.
