Brampton, Ontario / St. George’s, Grenada May 1, 2026 —HUD Energy, headquartered in Brampton, Ontario, announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Grenada Solid Waste Management Authority to advance a landmark, island-wide recycling initiative in Grenada—planned to be among the first fully self-sustaining, renewable-powered recycling systems of its kind in the Caribbean.

HUD Energy delegation will visit Grenada May 7–11 to meet with Government stakeholders and
conduct site assessments to support project planning, facilitation, and implementation.

During the visit, HUD Energy delegation will:
– Meet with key Government officials and agency partners to ensure alignment on scope, approvals,
and implementation pathways

– Conduct site visits and technical assessments for the proposed facilities and logistics network

– Advance planning for the Tire and E-waste integrated recycling plan, designed to be 100% powered
by renewable energy, including:

– Explore Solar power and Bio-waste-to-energy solutions (where feasible and compliant)
Project Overview

The project’s initial flagship facility will focus on end-of-life tire recycling, producing:
– Crumb rubber
– Recovered fiber
– Recovered steel

Phase 2 will expand into value-added manufacturing, including:
– Artificial playground and sport-surface materials
– Construction and building materials derived from recycled crumb rubber

HUD Energy also plans to supply crumb rubber to regional road-enhancement and paving applications
across the Caribbean, supporting more durable infrastructure while reducing landfill pressure.

Local Employment & Economic Impact
HUD Energy anticipates meaningful employment and skills development for Grenadians through construction, operations, logistics, equipment maintenance, administration, and environmental compliance roles. Projected employment targets will be finalized after the May site assessments, with workforce planning prioritized to maximize local hiring, training, and long-term career pathways.

Collaboration with the Government of Grenada
Leveraging its recently signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Grenada Solid Waste Authority, with which it will be collaborating for the venture, HUD Energy is eager to work with Government of Grenada to enable this national green-development initiative through coordinated engagement, efficient approvals, and partnership alignment, thus helping establish a model circular- economy system that can be replicated across the region.

Growth Plans: Expanding the Green Economy
Beyond tires and E-waste, HUD Energy’s long-term vision includes expanding into additional green-
economy areas to support a sustainable environment in the region, including scalable recycling streams and renewable-powered processing solutions aligned with national development priorities.
