Minister for Mobilisation, Implementation and Transformation Hon. AndyΒ Williams attended the Grenfin Invitational Swim Meet and OECS Qualifier, to witness theΒ selection of Grenadaβs National Swim Team for next monthβs OECS Swimming Championship.
The event took place at the Good Hope Swimming Pool in St. Pauls over the weekend.
Minister Williams was highly commended for his intervention in securing much-needed assistanceΒ for immediate restoration work at the pool, following the recent passing of the tropical systemΒ where the facility sustained extensive damage.
Also attending the event was Minister for Youth, Sports, and Culture Hon. Ron Redhead. He pledged governmentβs commitment to the construction of a state-of-the-art Aquatic Centre to aidΒ the development of Grenadaβs swimmers.
The 30th Annual OECS Invitational Swimming Championship will be held at the Rodney HeightsΒ Aquatic Centre, Rodney Bay, St. Lucia from November 11 β 13, 2022, after a two-year break fromΒ the regional event due to COVID-19.
