Health Officials On The Sister Isles Train Frontline Staff To Respond To The Threat Of COVID-19

Senior Government Health Officials spent the day on the Sister Isles Thursday (February 20) to train frontline medical, nursing, customs, airport, and immigration personnel, as Grenada continues to upscale its readiness to respond to the (COVID19).

Led by Permanent Secretary, Charlton Henry and Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Francis Martin, presentations and demonstrations were conducted at the Lauriston Airport, the main seaport on the island as well as yachting marinas.

Later that afternoon presentations and live demonstrations on how to wear, and proper use of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) were held with the staff at the Princess Alice Hospital.

Throughout the presentations and demonstrations the staff were engaged, and on completion of the day’s exercise, the hospital’s management and staff commended the Ministry for the initiatives taken to keep staff, all frontline personnel and residents of the sister isles safe.

Thursdays’ visit to Carriacou also saw the handover of three handheld non-contact thermometers and (PPEs) to medical and frontline staff.
