Grenada’s Statement On Preserving The Caribbean As A Zone Of Peace

0

PR – The Government of Grenada views with serious concern, the  recent escalation of activities within the Caribbean Sea, a vital region for the livelihoods of our  people and the stability of our community.

This space is the lifeblood for our fishers and inter-island traders, whose safety and freedom of  movement are paramount. While we acknowledge the challenges posed by illicit maritime  activities, we are committed to addressing them through strengthene regional cooperation and  lawful means.

Grenada proudly maintains cordial and constructive relations with all its neighbours. We firmly  believe that dialogue and diplomacy are the only acceptable tools for resolving differences.

In this spirit of Caribbean unity, and given the current heightened tensions, Grenada offers itself  as a willing interlocutor and facilitator for peaceful dialogue.

We hereby reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the principle of the Caribbean as a Zone of  Peace, and we urge all partners within and outside the region to respect and uphold this vital status.
