Grenada To Open Consulate In Guyana – Strengthening Diplomatic And Economic Ties

PR — The Government of Grenada is pleased to announce the official opening  of the Grenada Consulate in Georgetown, Guyana, on Monday, December 8, 2025. This marks a  significant step in deepening bilateral relations and fostering greater collaboration between  Grenada and Guyana.

The opening ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister, Hon. Dickon Mitchell, accompanied  by Hon. Joseph Andall, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development. The  delegation will depart Grenada on Monday, December 8, and return on Tuesday, December 9,  2025.

The event will also feature His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Irfaan Ali, President of the  Cooperative Republic of Guyana, who is scheduled to deliver remarks during the ceremony.

Following the consulate opening, the Grenadian delegation will attend the launch of Demerara  Refinery Inc. on December 9, 2025, reinforcing Grenada’s commitment to regional trade,  investment, and energy cooperation. Business representatives will join the Prime Minister to  explore opportunities and strengthen economic partnerships.

The establishment of the Grenada Consulate in Guyana reflects the Government’s ongoing efforts  to enhance diplomatic presence, support Grenadian nationals abroad, and promote trade and  investment opportunities between the two nations.

In the absence of Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, Hon. Phillip Telesford, Minister for Health, will act as Prime Minister.
