The Ministry of Youth and Sports expresses profound sadness at the passing of former Senator and dedicated youth advocate, Neilon Franklyn.
Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Delma Thomas, paid tribute to Mr. Franklyn, highlighting his passion for empowering young people, creating opportunities, and inspiring his peers.
“Neilon’s commitment to youth development was evident in all that he did. His energy, vision, and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on many lives,” Minister Thomas stated.
Reflecting on her personal connection, Minister Thomas added, “Having known Neilon personally and worked closely with him, I can attest to his unwavering dedication. He also shared a close bond with my son, which makes this loss deeply personal and heartbreaking.”
On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Minister Thomas extended condolences to Mr. Franklyn’s family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
“Neilon’s spirit, leadership, and devotion to youth will continue to inspire us. May he rest in peace,” the Minister concluded.
