With World AIDS Day on the horizon, statistics show that Grenada has in excess of 400 individuals living with HIV.

Each year thereafter the detection of AIDS, there’s the UN designated World AIDS Day December 1 occasion that seeks to highlight awareness programmes about the deadly disease.

According to reports, this year’s World AIDS Day is more than a celebration of the achievements of communities; it is a call to action to enable and support communities in their leadership roles.

World AIDs Day 2023 will be held under the theme, ‘Let communities lead’.

There remains the considered view that HIV AIDS also remains a major public health issue that affects millions of people worldwide, Grenada is no exception..

Speaking on NextCHAPTER, a weekly broadcast programme of the ministry of health,  horepresentative of the National Infectious Diseases Control Unit Rapid Tester, Relvon Baptiste, made note of the aids statistics concerning Grenada.

Counsellor Seville Francis says sensitization and awareness among young people, in particular males, is the way forward, since it’s the view that young people are afraid to ask for help.
