Grenada Announces A Team To The Commonwealth Games

The Grenada Olympic Committee announces that the Spice Isle will be sending a team of 15 athletes, representing four disciplines, to the 21st Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast next month.

The athletes will participate in disciplines as track and field, boxing, swimming and Volleyball.

The Commonwealth begins April 4 and ends April 15.

Spectators of this event are anticipating a spectacular opening parade which will feature 70 teams from 70 Commonwealth Nations.

There’ll be some 6, 600 athletes and team officials engaged in some 18 sports.

The Commonwealth Games which is usually staged over a 4-year cycle, was last held in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2014.

Grenada won 2 medals, Gold by Kirani James in the quarter mile event, establishing a new games record and bronze by Bronze by Kurt Felix.
