The Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, on behalf of Carriacou Cares Inc., officially handed over 13 hospital beds, 10 vital signs monitors, and one electric hoist to the Princess Royal Hospital.

Carriacou Cares Inc., a U.S.-based non-profit organization founded in 2018 by a family with roots in Carriacou, has supported healthcare on the island through several donations over the years.

“When the diaspora steps forward to give back, it reminds us of the strength of community and the importance of collaboration. It is these kinds of partnerships that help move our country forward and ensure that our people receive the care they deserve,” Minister and Member of Parliament for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Hon. Tevin Andrews, said at the brief handing over ceremony.

Acting Matron of the hospital, Ms. Endeave McLawrence, welcomed the much-needed equipment, stating it will further strengthen their ability to deliver quality patient care.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Leanwall Perrotte, expressed the Ministry’s willingness to support individuals and organizations seeking to improve the lives of residents.
