Coroner Rules Shooting Death Lawful

A Coroner has ruled that the fatal shooting of Mt. Parnassus (St. George) resident, Jerry Paul, by police is justified.

The inquest into Paul’s death was presided over by Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill at the St. George’s Magistrate Court.

An impaneled coroner’s jury returned the verdict on Wednesday 2nd May, 2018.

Paul, aged 45, at the time of his death, succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of gunshot wound on Sunday 30th October, 2016. An autopsy report stated he died from hypovolemic shock.
