A TROPICAL WAVE CURRENTLY AFFECTING THE SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS

WITH THE HURRICANE SEASON on, we have a release from the Meteorological Services at the MBIA that a tropical wave is currently affecting the Southern Windward Islands.

Its axis is along 62 degrees West, south of 17ยฐN moving westward at 10 knots.

Scattered moderate convection is noted from 06 to 12ยฐNorth, between 52 and 63ยฐ West.

Models still indicate partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with light to moderate showers and a low chance of thunder within the next 24 hours, especially overnight.

The release says a second tropical wave has its axis along 48 degrees West, south of 17ยฐ North, approximately 800 nautical miles east of Grenada.

It is moving westward at around 15 knots.

Scattered moderate convection is depicted from 06 to11ยฐNorth between 52ยฐW and 47ยฐWest.

This wave is expected to cross late Wednesday evening into Thursday at its current speed, with models suggesting cloudy conditions, showers, and possible thunderstorms.
