A TROPICAL WAVE CURRENTLY AFFECTING THE SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS

WITH THE HURRICANE SEASON on, we have a release from the Meteorological Services at the MBIA that a tropical wave is currently affecting the Southern Windward Islands.

Its axis is along 62 degrees West, south of 17°N moving westward at 10 knots.

Scattered moderate convection is noted from 06 to 12°North, between 52 and 63° West.

Models still indicate partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with light to moderate showers and a low chance of thunder within the next 24 hours, especially overnight.

The release says a second tropical wave has its axis along 48 degrees West, south of 17° North, approximately 800 nautical miles east of Grenada.

It is moving westward at around 15 knots.

Scattered moderate convection is depicted from 06 to11°North between 52°W and 47°West.

This wave is expected to cross late Wednesday evening into Thursday at its current speed, with models suggesting cloudy conditions, showers, and possible thunderstorms.
